Opiikapawiin Services LP

Opiikapawiin Services LP was established by the same partnership of 24 First Nations in Northwestern Ontario.  Opiikapawiin Services is primarily responsible for administering projects and programs for Wataynikaneyap Power relating to community engagement, community readiness, education and training, business readiness, stakeholder engagement, communications, and capacity building. Opiikapawiin Services also supports the First Nations Partnership in the management of its investment in Wataynikaneyap Power.

Wataynikaneyap Power PM Inc.

Wataynikaneyap Power PM Inc. (WPPM) is the project manager for Wataynikaneyap Power and is responsible for providing project management services for the development, construction, operation, and maintenance of the project. WPPM is responsible for all aspects of the management and administration of the transmission system.

WPPM is 100% owned by Fortis Ontario Inc. (FortisOntario), an electric utility holding company which owns and operates Canadian Niagara Power Inc., Cornwall Street Railway Light and Power Company Limited, and Algoma Power Inc., serving a combined approximate 69,900 customers. FortisOntario also owns regulated transmission assets with approximately 3,353 kilometres of distribution and transmission lines and meets a peak demand of approximately 268 MW.
