Wataynikaneyap Power selected PowerTel/Eptcon, subsidiaries of Cormorant Utility Services, to carry out specialized inspection, maintenance, and emergency response (IMER) activities.
Planned inspections
- Helicopter inspections of transmission lines once a year
- Ground inspections of transmission lines every 5 years
- Detailed Inspection of substations multiple times a year
Substation equipment testing and maintenance
- Ground operational checks and minor site maintenance of substations multiple times a year
- Detailed testing and maintenance of substation equipment will vary by equipment and location
Emergency Response
- Wataynikaneyap Power personnel are on-call 24/7 for emergencies and will work with the contractor and others to coordinate emergency response
