Criteria and Indicators
Criteria are components of the environment that are considered to have economic, social, cultural, biological, conservation, or aesthetic value. The selection of appropriate criteria allows the assessment to be focused on those aspects of the natural and human environment that are of greatest importance to society and which will provide understanding of the significance of the effects of a project.
Indicators represent properties of the physical, biological and socio-economic environments that can be used to characterize changes to criteria and assessment endpoints in a meaningful way.
The following table provides the final list of criteria and indicators based on feedback from Phase 1, Round 3, Part 1 Engagement.
